Board Members

The Capitol West Condo Owners Association is governed by the Capitol West Board of Directors. Seven board members serve on the board with five members representing the High-Rise, one member representing the Townhouses and one member representing the Commercial Units. According to the Association’s Declaration, if no one from the Commercial Units volunteers to serve, that representative will be selected from the High-Rise. Board seats are 2-year staggered terms with either three or four seats coming up for election each year at the CWCOA Annual Meeting.

The Board of Directors generally meets once a month, usually in the evening from 6pm until 8:30 or 9:00pm. Throughout the month there may be a number of email contacts between Board members or management. During the fall, budget discussion meetings are also scheduled. 

Some Board members volunteer to serve on Board Subcommittees to work with fellow Board members on important projects. These have included updating the condo documents, securing new management, annual meeting planning, and others. Also, each Capitol West Committee (such as the Garden Committee) needs to include a Board member, although the Board member does not need to be the chairperson.

Serving on the Board of Directors is not necessarily a big time commitment. One can keep up with periodical emails and attend meetings or can choose to be more involved by serving on committees or Board subcommittees. Please consider volunteering your time and talents to serve on the CWCOA Board of Directors.
